Letters to the Editor May 2008

Since this is the first month of our online magazine, it seems only reasonable that we have no letters to the editor to publish. In the future, however, we'll be publishing letters here that readers send in for inclusion to the magazine.

What we'll publish – Since we encourage open and honest communication, we'll publish just about anything you have to say, so long as we believe it has a benefit to those who read it. If you agree with us, or if you disagree with something we said, we want to hear it. If we make a mistake in an article, either by stating our facts incorrectly or by omission, we'll gladly publish your corrections here.

We'll also publish your name to the letter you write. No name, no publish.

To send in a letter to the Editor, simply follow the procedures outlined in the “Letters to the Editor” guidelines located in the “about the magazine” section. Or, simply send in an email to us at this link.

What we won't publish – First, it's important to understand that, in the end, we reserve the right to control our content.

Having said that, here are a few things that you won't be seeing in our publication:

Personal attacks of any kind will never make it past the inbox. If, however, you have a difference of opinion, we welcome and encourage the dialog.

Attacks on businesses or agencies that are not constructive. This is a somewhat delicate situation because, while we strive to be honest, we also are trying to create a positive experience for our readers. Our personal plan is to simply not say anything if we can't report something good, and we'll probably do the same with the Letters to the editor section.

Basically, if you feel the need to talk some trash, go start a blog. If you have something constructive to report, we want to hear it and pass it along to our readers.
