Next Month
Next month, we're going to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. This is a trip back in time, where campgrounds are near the attraction, the lodge is old but elegant, and people try to make your stay pleasant, no matter if you're in the tent campground of staying in the hotel with a balcony overlooking Phantom Ranch.
For those of you who have never been, or have seen this incredible park from the south rim, this is a place you won't want to miss. With the elevation being substantially higher than the south rim, you get to view all the grandeur of the canyon, but from a high alpine forest with Douglas firs and aspen trees right on the rim!
We'll also explore a little known area of the southern Rockies called the Enchanted Circle. This circle of towns starting at Taos New Mexico and moving around to Angel Fire, Eagle Nest, and Red River. There's winter and summer fun here, and not many people know about it.
Up north, Denise Zirkle will take us about 40 miles up the Cook Inlet from Anchorage, and stop just short of the Chugach Mountains. She'll show us just a bit about life and recreation in and around Wasilla and Palmer, some great Alaska towns to see.
Many folks are starting to travel with more than one computer in their rigs. From a networking point of view, this can turn into an issue when trying to network computers, plus use a campground's WiFi. We'll examine the use of a wireless bridge to help work through some of these issues.
Each month we try to produce the best magazine we can, but this month, we're particularly excited. We think you'll agree.
